Powerflushing

Hand on heart, we've powerflushed hundreds of properties big and small. Fifteen years ago powerflushing was pretty much all we did in the winter, but these days I like to vary my work a bit more.

Still, if you want a powerflush done by a team with a lot of experience of how systems work, where the likely problem points are and all that good stuff, please give us a call.

We use a Kamco machine for residential work, which is more than enough for most properties. Larger work can be taken on but would need a site visit beforehand.

The cost of a powerflush starts at £395.

Powerflushing FAQ

Is a powerflush worth the money?

It depends. For example, if your system is just not working properly and circulation issues are the problem, then yes. Certainly it can help when done properly. I consider part of my task to establish if it is actually appropriate.

How long does a powerflush last?

As long as it's done right in the first place, and as long as corrosion inhibitor is added regularly, a powerflush should last at least five years.

Is powerflushing a good idea?

I'm biased, so yes. But if I don't think you need it, or if something else should be done before, or as well, you will know before any work is done. If, during the course of a powerflush, something comes up that could not have been foreseen, we advise you of the best course of action.

Does a powerflush always work?

No. Just 99% of the time. That's our success rate. If we don't fix the problem, then we don't charge.

Common Heating Problems We Fix

Cold Radiators

Radiators not heating up? Could be air locks, sludge buildup, faulty valves, or circulation issues. We diagnose and fix the actual problem.

Low System Pressure

Boiler pressure keeps dropping? Usually a leak somewhere, faulty expansion vessel, or pressure relief valve issue. We find it and fix it.

Black Water in System

Drain a radiator and the water's black? That's magnetite sludge from internal corrosion. Powerflushing removes it and protects the system.

Noisy System

Banging, kettling, or gurgling noises? Could be air in the system, sludge buildup, or pump issues. We'll work out what's causing it.

Leaking Radiator Valves

Dripping from valve connections? We can replace thermostatic radiator valves, tighten connections, or replace damaged radiators.

Uneven Heating

Some radiators hot, others cold? System needs balancing, or you have circulation/sludge issues. We'll balance the system properly.

What To Expect

Proper Diagnosis

We don't guess. We test the system, check pressures, look at water quality, and work out what's actually wrong before quoting.

Honest Advice

If powerflushing won't fix your problem, we'll tell you. If you need a new radiator instead of repairing the old one, we'll say so.

Quality Work

We don't rush. Heating systems need to be done properly. We take the time to do it right, not just fast.

Clean Installation

Radiator replacements mean mess. We protect floors and carpets, clean up properly, and remove old radiators.
